A McKinney chiropractor accused of sexually assaulting several of his patients has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.

A Collin County jury deliberated for about five hours Wednesday before sentencing Dr. David Russell to 15 years for a charge of sexual assault of a child, 12 years for indecency with a child, 10 years each for two sexual assault charges and eight years for another indecency charge.

The sentences of up to 15 years would be served concurrently, except for an eight-year sentence for indecency with a child, which will be served upon completion of the 15-year sentence.

He had faced up to life in prison after being convicted Tuesday of sexual assault, sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child.
